Magome-juku (Gifu)

Japanese  ⇒ Nippon burari SHOT
Magome-juku located in Nakatsugawa city, Gifu prefecture, was one of 69 stations on Nakasendo, an ancient road connected Kyoto and Edo in Edo era.

Kousatsu-ba , a street bulletin board which bans and notifications from government were written in Edo era.

Magome-juku was a post town built on both side of a steep slope way.



Toson Memorial Museum       Magome-juku was the birthplace and childhood home of noted author Shimazaki Toson.

Masugata,   a hook shaped road for defenses from enemy invasion.

Restored old water mill       Nowadays it generates electricity to light up nearby streets.

Shinsen-numa Marsh in Niseko (Hokkaido)

Shinsen-numa Marsh is a part of Niseko-Shakotan-Otaru Kaigan Quasi-national Park located in the western beach of Hokkaido.
Niseko area, a highland over 750 m above sea level, is dotted with lakes, marshes and wetlands.

Shinsen-numa Marsh surrounded by primeval woods, is said to be the most beautiful among lakes and marshes in the Niseko mountain range.

Hida Takayama (Gifu)

Takayama city located in Gifu prefecture is popularly called Hida Takayama in reference to the old Hida Province.

Traditional street in Takayama       It's an Important Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings in Japan.

A traditional townhouse in the last Edo period     Now it's a restaurant for local cuisines.

Kamikochi (Nagano)

Kamikochi, located in Matsumoto city, Nagano prefecture, is a mountainous highland valley within Hida Mountains. It's a part of Chubu-Sangaku National Park, and designated as a Special Place of  Scenic Beauty and a Special Natural Monument in Japan.

Azusa River                 A lot of Iwana (char) is swimming in clean cold water.

It's almost on the half way between Taisho Lake and Kappa Bridge, and a branch point of Azusa River Course and Rinkan Course.

Ouchi-juku (Fukushima)

Japanese  ⇒ Nippon burari SHOT
Ouchi-juku, located in Shimogo-machi, Fukushima prefecture, was formerly a post-town on the old Aizu-nishi-kaido Road in Edo era.

There are more than thirty houses with thatched roofs in Ouchi-juku.

Ouchi-juku designated as a Important Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings.





A tasty buckwheat can be eaten here, because Shimogo-machi has long been producing high-quality buckwheat.


Negi-soba, a famous food in Ouchi-juku, is a buckwheat which will be eaten with one long onion instead chopsticks.

A souvenir shop sells a variety of local folk crafts.
